David Cummings has been Volunteer Reserve Warden at Hockenhull Platts for over 40years. As a local historian and wildlife photographer he will outline the fascinating story of the area, and talk about some of the interesting travellers who have used the old packhorse route from Chester to London which divides the reserve. He will talk about the changes to the local environment, caused by the move from dairy farming to an arable culture, which has influenced the wildlife species recorded in this unique wetland habitat. The talk will be fully illustrated with photographs taken in and around the site by David and friends.
