We are looking for a creative and organised Communications Officer to help tell the story of Cheshire Wildlife Trust and inspire more people to take action for nature.

Wildlife is in freefall and the climate is in crisis. By 2030, we need to see nature recovering, wildlife returning and more people on nature’s side. This role will help us share powerful stories, raise the profile of our work and connect supporters, communities and partners with our vision for a Wilder Cheshire.

Working as part of the Fundraising and Development Directorate, you will support the delivery of communications across digital, print and media channels. You will gather stories, photos and video content from teams across the Trust, turn technical information into clear and engaging content, and help ensure our messages reach the right audiences at the right time.

You will contribute to communications planning, content calendars and campaign messaging, while helping to create supporter journeys across our digital platforms. You will also support web content, social media, media relations, press releases and the consistent use of Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s brand and tone of voice.

We are looking for someone with experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or digital content. You will be a confident storyteller, able to write for different audiences and channels, with good organisational skills and a practical understanding of social media, scheduling tools and analytics. Skills in design, photography or videography would also be valuable.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to use their communications skills to make a real difference for wildlife, people and the future of nature in Cheshire.

You will be someone who:

  • Can create clear, compelling content for online and offline channels
  • Enjoys finding strong stories and turning ideas into engaging communications
  • Can work confidently with colleagues across different teams
  • Understands how to use digital channels to reach and engage audiences
  • Is organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Is passionate about nature and the role people can play in protecting it

In return, you will join a passionate and ambitious charity working to bring wildlife back and create a Wilder Cheshire for everyone.

At Cheshire Wildlife Trust we embrace agile working with a focus on supporting you to achieve your objectives alongside a healthy work-life balance. We operate a hybrid working policy with most staff working at least part of the week from home and/or out on site.
