Cheshire Wildlife Trust is on a mission to save the planet… and save you money!

Did you know that by helping the environment, you could also be helping yourself?

Concerns about rising bills and the cost of living can be overwhelming and overtake thinking about the natural world. However, there are small, environmentally friendly things we can do to help save money, time and the environment. Cheshire Wildlife Trust are on hand to offer their ‘wild life hacks’ – small actions we can all take that help solve big problems. You may already be doing some! Some of their ‘hacks’ include:

Changes at home

  • Change your energy use
  • Conserve water
  • Watch what you wash away
  • Change what you eat
  • Reduce food waste

Changes in the garden

  • Install a water butt
  • Grow your own
  • Compost your waste

Lifestyle changes

  • Reduce, reuse, recycle
  • Change the way you travel
  • Get outside
  • Give greener

Cheshire Wildlife Trust are asking the people of Cheshire, Halton, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Warrington and Wirral to share their own ideas on social media using #WildLifeHacks. Perhaps you’ll inspire others!

Katie Greenwood, Wellbeing and Nature Manager at Cheshire Wildlife Trust said: “With everything going on in the world, things can feel overwhelming and too big to face as individuals. However, we can all share the little everyday ‘hacks’ we’re doing to make our lives more affordable, environmentally conscious and wilder. All the small actions really do add up! We can’t wait to hear everyone’s ideas.”
