Hilbre Island Walk
Event details
Mon, 31/07/2017 - 10:00am - 4:00pm
This is a popular trip for families.
The group leaves the slipway at West Kirby at low tide and walks two miles across the sands to Hilbre Island. Hundreds of seals are hauled out on the sand banks of the River Dee Estuary at this time of year and can be clearly seen with the help of a telescope. Many more swim around to the end of the island where you can get closer to them.
The walk is ideal for children and families and will include a seaside scavenger hunt, rock pool dipping, bird and seal watching.
Not suitable for children under five due to the long distance across to the island.
