Family Forest School Festival

Come and find us in the Woods at Moore Nature reserve for our family forest school festival!

The day will include 3 different bookable activities

Campfire lighting: This session will focus on fire safety, lighting a fire using fire sticks, natural materials that can be found, listening to and enjoying the natural world, and everyone’s favourite – marshmallow toasting!

Willow weaving: We will guide you to create a beautiful autumn wreath for your home, to remind you of your time in the woods connecting with nature. Children and adults will find different leaves, identify the species of tree, and weave them into their autuum wreaths.

Den building: Can you and your family meet this challenge? Learn how to tie knots to secure tarpaulins for your den, use materials to make it secure, and learn about the wildlife that make their homes in the wood.

Book on to one of the activities below

Please note, there are morning and afternoon sessions of the 24th October listed below.

Is the activity booked up?

Don’t worry, come along and take part in our drop in arts, crafts and scavenger hunt activities, and there may be last minute spaces on the campfire lighting, willow weaving and den building activities on the day.

The Family Forest School festival also has drop in activities for the day, so come along and get involved! You are invited to complete arts and crafts activities with natural materials, including a cute clay hedgehog! Whilst you’re with us, receive hints and tips on how to help hedgehogs around your home. We will also have woodland scavenger hunt activities for you to follow and complete, and stickers for any children who can find a golden pine cones hidden in the woods!
