Cheshire Wildlife Trust patron Richard Walker honoured by the Queen for his commitment to tackling environment issues

Iceland Managing Director, Richard Walker, who became Patron for Cheshire Wildlife Trust in 2020 has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Iceland Managing Director, Richard Walker, who became Patron for Cheshire Wildlife Trust in 2020 has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

He received an OBE for services to business and the environment.

Richard became a Patron to support the Trust’s mission to ‘bring wildlife back – for everyone, everywhere’ and to launch its new 2030 strategy to create a Wilder Cheshire.

Upon joining the Trust on their mission, Richard said:

“I am passionate about protecting the natural world and naturally feel a particular attachment to the wonderful Cheshire countryside and wildlife on my own doorstep. My family and I spend as much time outdoors as we can, and we have seen for ourselves and fully appreciate the great work that the Trust is doing.”

Charlotte Harris, Chief Executive of Cheshire Wildlife Trust commented: “We want to congratulate Richard on his OBE and look forward to continuing our work together to bring wildlife back.

“We’re very pleased to have Richard as our Patron. It’s really exciting to have somebody with a high profile who can help us achieve our objectives and is passionate about nature and the environment.”
