From Source to Sea

From Source to Sea on the River Dee

This is a rivers and coastal study looking at the changing geomorphology and associated wildlife of a river from a small tributary at Caldy Brook in Chester to the wide open Estuary of the River Dee.

An optional half day introduction session in your school looks at the water cycle, the journey of a river and introduction to the fieldtrip. Informative and fun classroom activities are provided to enhance children’s learning.

The full day fieldtrip involves fieldwork and observations from a tributary to the Dee estuary. Children will look at the unique features of the stream and river in Chester before travelling to the Wirral to study the estuary at Thurstaston or West Kirby. The afternoon will be spent exploring this coastal environment and learning about its special wildlife and geological features.

Full day of activities - £250 for a group of up to 30 children

Half day of activities - £175 for a group of up to 30 children

Larger groups can be accommodated so if you would like to bring more children then please talk to us.
