Wild Beach
Reawaken children's amazing curiosity in nature with Cheshire Wildlife Trust by bringing them to our seashore nature reserve.

Cheshire Wildlife Trust has a long record in providing high quality environmental education. In the past three years our People & Wildlife team has specialised in delivering Forest Schools and we are now taking that to the beach. Our Wild Beach activities will be held at Red Rocks Marsh Nature Reserve at West Kirby.
Red Rocks is found on the Dee Estuary and includes a range of habitats such as beach, saltmarsh, dunes and mudflats which are home rare plants and creatures, including the critically endangered Natterjack toad.
The reserve offers panoramic views across the estuary to the Welsh coastline, and the estuary itself is internationally important for wildlife and supports thousands of wading birds.
Red Rocks is a great place for children to explore a seashore environment and to have a Wild Beach experience.
Wild Beach activities can include:
Coastal habitat scavenger hunts
Mud dipping and marsh pool exploring
Shelter making
Sand sculptures
Drift wood collection and fire lighting
Kelly kettles and hot chocolate
Wild food and wild cooking
Beach games
How it works
We run our Wild Beach days from our Red Rocks Marsh Nature Reserve, West Kirby, CH47 1HN.
Our staff are qualified Forest School practitioners who are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and have a certificate in first aid.
The cost of a Wild Beach Experience is £300 per day.
