Cheshire Wildlife Trust announce 2026 calendar competition winners!

Colin Woods

Earlier this year, Cheshire Wildlife Trust asked budding photographers to submit their photos of wildlife and wild places to be featured in their 2026 calendar.

The Trust received over 160 stunning images from across Cheshire, Halton, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Warrington, and Wirral.

Award-winning wildlife photographer Ben Hall reviewed the entries and has selected 12 winners and 12 runners up, which will all feature in the 2026 calendar. He also picked an overall winner: great crested grebes battling in Marbury taken by Colin Woods, which features on the cover.

Kat Wade, Fundraising Manager at Cheshire Wildlife Trust says:

“Every year we’re amazed at the stunning photographs people have captured across the region. There’s so much variety and beauty in Cheshire and that’s really been captured in this year’s entries. It gets harder every year to pick the winners! Our 2026 calendar includes a stunning selection of birds, insects, mammals, plants, fungi and trees creatively captured in Cheshire. We'd like to say a huge congratulations to our winners and runners up!

Our calendar proves more popular each year and helps raise vital funds to support our work. It’s fantastic to know that so many people want to have images of Cheshire’s beautiful wildlife on their wall all year round and help protect it. However, it’s popularity means we do sell out! Be sure to pre-order your copy so you don’t miss out.”
