Cheshire Wildlife Trust take to our screens on two national television shows this week

In an exciting week for the Trust, BBC’s popular Countryfile and ITV’s Tonight programme will feature two exciting volunteering projects, the Create for Nature furniture enterprise and ‘Go Wild Get Fit’ wellbeing initiative, funded by Sport England.

They will also show how farmland wildlife in Cheshire can benefit from a helping hand during the colder winter months.

Katie Greenwood, our Natural Wellbeing Manager said:

“We are really excited to be given this opportunity on the ITV Tonight programme to spread the word about our Sport England project and show people how important it is to be active outdoors and amongst nature. It’s not just great for our wellbeing but if you’re suffering from any aches or back pains like I have in the past, doing some simple gardening or gentle exercise outside has been really beneficial to me.”

Sam Salisbury, our Create for Nature Manager said:

“It’s fantastic to be able to showcase our Create for Nature workshop and the hard work our volunteers put in each week. All the furniture we create is reclaimed and custom made to order straight from the workshop, with profits going directly into supporting the conservation projects with Cheshire Wildlife Trust. It’s a real benefit not only socially, but environmentally too.”

You can watch some of the projects in action on the ITV Tonight programme this Thursday 28th February at 7:30pm and BBC Countryfile this Sunday, 3rd March at 6pm.
