As an exclusive event for our members, we're inviting you to come and join us on a walk out to Hilbre Island in the Dee Estuary.
Event details
About the event
This is a popular trip for families. After a quick warm up we will leave the slipway behind us at West Kirby at low tide and walk two miles across the sands to Hilbre Island.
For older children and families it’s a great trip out featuring a seaside scavenger hunt, rock pool dipping, bird and seal watching.
Our meeting point will be the slipway on the junction of South Parade and Dee Lane. We will then make our way across to Hilbre Island.
Please note:
- This is an exclusive member only event.
- Pay and display parking available.
- The walk is not suitable for children under five due to the long distance across to the island (2 miles each way). We also ask that each adult attending is responsible for no more than three children in total for safety reasons.
- All children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on leads.
- There is uneven ground on this walk. Please refer to Wirral Country Park | wirral.gov.uk for more information.
We are running a walk especially for adults in July. Please see Hilbre Island walk for adults for details.
