Managing land for wildlife

For wildlife to truly recover, we need 30% of our land and sea to be protected, connected and managed for nature. As farmers and landowners, you are the custodians of our countryside and so are pivotal in bringing wildlife back.

Nature is in trouble. More than half of our wild animals and plants in the UK are in decline. We’ve lost 50% of our insects over the last 50 years, 99% of our wildflower meadows over the last 60 years and 25% of our mammals are threatened with extinction.

We are also facing a climate emergency, with the nature emergency intrinsically linked. A healthy natural world can provide resilience and solutions to climate change. When allowed to recover nature provides clean air and water, carbon storage, flood protection, healthy soils and crop pollination.

Let's bring wildlife back together.

We already work with a number of farmers and landowners who are making a difference to wildlife, from planting hedgerows to creating ponds. Our interactive map allows you to see what projects other landowners have started and to add yours. Together we can reach our target of 30% of land being managed, protected and connected for wildlife by 2030.
