Choose a name for Cheshire’s newest beavers 

In July, Cheshire Wildlife Trust announced the arrival of three new beaver kits at Hatchmere Nature Reserve. This now brings the total number of beavers as part of the Delamere Beaver Project to seven!

Since the announcement, Cheshire Wildlife Trust members and supporters of their beaver fundraising appeal have been suggesting names for the new arrivals. From a list of over 350 names, Kev Feeney, Senior Living Landscape Officer at Hatchmere Nature Reserve, has picked his top fifteen and now you can vote for your favourite! The three names with the most votes will be chosen as the names for the new arrivals.   

The top fifteen names to choose from are:  

  • Acorn 

  • Alder 

  • Birch 

  • Bracken 

  • Caster 

  • Chestnut 

  • Conker 

  • Juniper 

  • Maple 

  • Moss 

  • Oak 

  • Sprig 

  • Swampy 

  • Timber 

  • Woody
