About the event

Welcome to the Curriculum Links to Outdoor Learning (KS2) Training Day - Brought to you by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust and made available by TARMAC.

Join us on Wed June 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the beautiful Crown Farm Quarry Nature Reserve, near Northwich in Cheshire.

This hands-on training day will provide educators with practical skills and ideas for supporting the delivery of your curriculum objectives through outdoor learning.

Learn how to deliver engaging and enriching sessions for children from KS2.

Don't miss this opportunity to deepen your understanding of nature and how it can be used to deliver effective learning opportunities.

We can't wait to see you there.

Purpose and Content:

  • This hands-on training day aims to equip educators with practical skills and creative ideas for supporting the delivery of key stage two, through the outdoors.
  • Participants will learn how to design and deliver effective and engaging teaching sessions through nature.
  • The focus is on deepening understanding and inspiring a love for nature and the outdoors in the children they work with.

What to Expect:

  • A day spent on the nature reserve, engaging in hands-on activities and meaningful discussions about the importance of learning outdoors that also meet the objectives outlined in your curriculum.

What to Bring:

  • Clothing for All Weathers: Since the entire day will be spent outdoors, participants are advised to come prepared with warm gear, waterproofs, and appropriate footwear (wellies or waterproof walking boots).

  • Lunch: Bring something delicious to enjoy during the midday break.
