Sustainable Celebrations

A School Project about celebrating sustainably – using less plastic, more natural materials, and connecting with nature.

Project Launch: A school trip to one of our nature reserves

What? A full day spent outdoors, connecting with nature and identifying wildlife. Pupils will complete nature inspired crafts. Our education session leaders will guide pupils to create a celebratory willow wreath, decorated with natural or biodegradable materials, and a decoration for their home, such as a bauble or garland of natural materials.

Where? A Sustainable Celebrations day can be at one of the following locations:

  • Bickley Hall Farm, Malpas, north of Whitchurch
  • Holly Bank House, Thornton-le-Moors, Ellesmere Port
  • The Quinta, Swettenham, Congleton

We could alternatively come to your school site! We can achieve this where existing school grounds are suitable. Please speak to us about the best location for your group determined by their learning, physical needs and number.

When? This project can be ran in the lead up to any annual celebration such as Easter, Diwali, Ramadan or Christmas.

Our visit to you

At the end of your Sustainable Celebrations project, we want to come to you to celebrate all that you have learned! The Sustainable Celebrations closing visit will help pupils recognise how their actions can be nature friendly. We will look at different practices and decide which are sustainable, how they can be edited to make them wildlife and future friendly. We will lead the session in the school grounds, rebuild our campfire, craft with natural materials, and toast marshmallows to end the project.

National Curriculum Objectives that can be covered through this project:
