Our supporters have helped us to...
-
Plant 19,895 trees with more to come in the new year. By the end of this season, we'll have planted an incredible 100,000 trees since 2021 when the Trees for Climate project began
-
Grow 10,000 trees and 35,000 wildflower plug plants in our nursery
-
Work with 13 landowners to create and restore 84 acres of wildflower meadows
-
Provide advice, management and monitoring services for 38 landowners
-
As part of this, we’ve created and restored 50 ponds.
Highlights from our nature reserves:
- At Bickley Hall Farm, 4 new ponds have been added, approximately 500m of scrapes have been created and 1,500m of scrapes have been reprofiled.
- At Gowy Meadows, 750m of hedgerow and 350 trees have been planted, 9 ponds have been enhanced with plug plants added, a hen harrier and multiple marsh harriers have been spotted.
- At Picton Pastures, we can see the amazing potential for wintering waterbirds with hundreds using the site each day including glossy ibis.
- At Crown Farm Quarry, 1,500 plug plants have been added to the meadow.
- As well as this, 6km of footpaths have been maintained at Cleaver Heath, Hunter’s Wood, Warburton’s Wood, Owley Wood, Poors Wood, Pumphouse Wood and Marbury Reedbed where hard to spot birds like bittern and water rail have been heard.

A huge thank you to our members and supporters
This wonderful work has been made possible thanks to the generosity of members and supporters, together with other donations and funding.
We can't name them all here but thank you to everyone who donated to our Local Wildlife Sites Appeal. £35,274 has been raised to designate and defend wildlife havens under threat.
Thank you to the hundreds of people, schools, groups and companies who have raised or donated over £65,000 this year.
And a special thank you to those who included a gift to Cheshire Wildlife Trust in their Will, providing £105,000 to protect and care for the wildlife and wild places that meant so much to them.
